Waterpark!

Massanutten has an indoor/outdoor waterpark, and boy was it fun! (Good thing it has an indoor part, because in March in the mountains of Virginia, it is not warm enough to be in an outdoor pool!)

The bouncy swings were the first thing I tried.

I loved the lazy river so much, I went on it several times!

There were also slides that I went on over and over and over and over again! But it is hard to take pictures in a waterpark without getting your camera wet and broken, so there aren't too many for this blog. Sorry!

After I was all done playing in the water, Mommy and Tyler wrapped me up in a nice warm towel.

This resort where we are staying has several pools. Mommy and I went swimming in two of them the other day. One of them was made just for kids like me...and boy, did we have fun in that one!

Then Mommy took me in the big pool, and we had more fun there!

Petting the aminals

We went to the petting farm that they have here at Massanutten. I enjoyed petting the - as I call them - "aminals".

There was a big pig...

...and a goat...

...and a donkey...

...and a sheep...

...but my favorite was the rabbit.

I also liked looking at the horses.

I went on a horse ride today! Well, okay, it wasn't a real horse. But I had fun anyway!

Tie dye

Yesterday, we got to make cool tie dye t-shirts. We all made matching ones, so watch for a funny photo coming later!

To make a tie dye t-shirt, you have to twist it. First, Mommy twisted hers. Notice her tongue.

Then she helped me twist mine. Notice my tongue. Think it's genetic? You're right, because Grandma and Aunt Kati also stick out their tongues when they are concentrating.

I took my twisted shirt to the lady to put in the different colored dyes.

And then we put it in a bag. It has to stay in this bag for at least a week, and then I get to take it out and see how cool it is!

(Oh, in case you're wondering why I have two bags: it's because I also made a matching hat!)

Golf game

We played mini golf at Massanutten. Yes, this place has LOADS of things to do and we are trying to do most of them!

Mommy showed me how to "address the ball".

She's pretty good at this golf stuff!

I had lots of fun playing with the putter...

Balloon knight

We went to see a really fun show tonight, with a magician who was lots of fun, and made lots of balloons! I got to go on the stage with him for a few minutes.

He moved around the stage a lot, which made me laugh!

When he asked me my name, I said "Connor Jones", and he thought I said "Ponce DeLeon", so he turned me into a knight!

One fish, two bags

Today, we went to a fun class where we got to color on fabric. I made a cute fish (with help from my Mommy).

It is fun to play with.

Vacation snuggles

We are on vacation for Mommy's spring break. We are spending the week in the mountains of Virginia, and having lots of fun so far. Our "hotel" is actually a nice condo with a fireplace! Mommy and I enjoyed snuggling by the fire and watching a movie one night. Aunt Kati says we'll post more blogs of the other fun stuff we're doing soon.

Sock hop decorations

Aunt Kati went to a fun dance a few weeks ago, but it was just for grownups. Since I couldn't go, she took me to the Community Center during the day (the dance was that night) to see the decorations. It was pretty cool!

The dance had a 50's theme...as I'm sure you figured out from this picture and the title of this blog.

OCC Family Day - February

Aunt Kati says sorry this blog is so late, but here are some pictures of me having fun making a Valentines decoration and a card at the February family day at my school.

We made a heart suncatcher with sticky paper and lots of little pieces of tissue paper.

I also made a Valentine card for my Mommy.

I asked Aunt Kati to write things I love on it - hugs and kisses, and Cars!

We went to a potluck tonight at Philip's house. He has this cool thing called "The Dancing Man". It's actually a percussion instrument, although it looks like a kind of puppet. When it "dances", its feet hit the board and make a tapping sound. It is really easy to play and I had a lot of fun with it!

There was a fundraiser for my school last weekend, and it was a really yummy kind of fundraiser. Pancakes! Aunt Kati and I went and got some. Mine had blueberries on them, and Aunt Kati gave me some whipped cream to make them even more delicious!

(It was a special treat...normally she feeds me a healthier breakfast than this, I promise.)

I enjoyed my special breakfast treat very much.

Pancakes make me smile.

This hardly ever happens here on Ocracoke Island where I live, but recently we got a BUNCH of snow!

See how pretty it was in our back yard?

Of course, we had to go out and play in it! I loved scooping it up with my shovel.

In this picture, you can really get a sense for how deep it was.

Aunt Kati said we should build a snowman, but I told her I wanted to build a snow princess. So we built a snow princess.

We called her Snow Belle.

Yes, we even put Aunt Kati's tiara on her.

The snow was mostly gone the next day, and completely gone the day after that. But it was fun while it lasted!

One day after church, I noticed the small playground near the school. It used to be on the other side of the school, but they moved it. I was excited to see it there, so I asked Aunt Kati if we could come back later. And we did!

Family time at OCC

I have lots of fun on weekdays at my school, Ocracoke Child Care. And now, I get to have even more fun one Saturday a month - and Aunt Kati and Uncle John get to come with me! So on January 15th, we went there in the morning for the first Family Fun Time. We made pinecone birdfeeders.

Aunt Kati helped me spread the peanut butter on the pinecones. I also ate some! (The peanut butter, not the pinecones.)

My friends Payce and Griffin were there and also had fun making birdfeeders.

After we put the peanut butter on, we rolled the pinecone in the birdseed.

I really liked the texture of it.

We got some on our hands!

After we washed our hands, Aunt Kati read me a story.

It was a fun morning!

Daddy came for a visit, and brought me my Christmas presents. One of them was a CAR! Okay, not a real one, but it does go, and I like to drive it down the street!

It was really cold when Daddy was here, so I got all bundled up in my coat to go outside to see what my surprise was. Boy, was I excited when I saw it! I ran right up to it...

...and climbed right in!

Here I go!

...and she and Daddy walked along with me to make sure I went in basically a straight line.

That was so much fun!

Disney trip blog 15 (last one!) - so long, and Santa!

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. On our last day at Disney World, we took a few photos around the hotel...

There was a fun Mickey car in the arcade.

I was pretty good at this popcorn game!

I loved the water shooting three caballeros at the big pool.

I thought this fountain was pretty neat, too.

Ariel, Flounder, and Sebastian were hanging out at the other pool...

...which is shaped like a piano! (The big pool is shaped like a guitar.)

I played on the playground for a while.

Then Uncle John and I posed for a picture outside the building where our room was.

And I posed for a picture with the Christmas tree...

...and then we went to see Santa!

I gave him five!

Disney trip - blog 14 - I almost forgot!

I almost forgot to tell you about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It's a special event that happens at night at Magic Kingdom, only a few times a year, during the holiday season. We went, of course!

One of the great things about being in the Magic Kingdom after dark this time of year is you get to see Cinderella Castle all lit up!

(Okay, Aunt Kati admits that she didn't take that photo. It was taken by one of Disney's photographers and came on our Photopass CD.) But she did take this one!

Mommy and I went for a ride in a racecar. They gave me a driver's license! (Don't worry, it's only good at Tomorrowland Speedway.)

We danced at Cosmic Ray's Jingle Dance and Play party.

We rode on the People Mover...

...and got to see Buzz Lightyear!

Then we went on Buzz's ride, the Space Ranger Spin.

After that, we visited Minnie's house. I liked her microwave...

...and her chair!

Aunt Kati says we have to post this picture just because it's cute.

We went to Mickey's house too...it was all decorated for Christmas!

I had fun playing in the play area...

And then I was tired and ready for bed!

Disney trip blog 13 - more Magic!

We went back to the Magic Kingdom again, because it's really fun there!

I got to meet Pluto.

The day we were there, they were filming the Christmas Day Parade. (Sorry if you thought it was actually happening live on Christmas day...it's not.)

I liked these cute Mickey and Minnie topiaries.

We went for a ride on the train, even though it was quite chilly.

We also went on several boats - the Jungle Cruise, and the Liberty Belle riverboat...

...and the raft over to Tom Sawyer Island.

There were lots of fun things to do on the island.

We went to the Christmas shop and sat in the sleigh. (Aunt Kati got a tiara that morning, so she was a princess for the day.)

I got to drive a race car!

Then we went to play at Mickey's Toontown Fair. I liked this big gas pump...

...and I also liked playing on Donald's boat.

It was another fun-filled day!

Disney trip blog 12 - Legos and Luau

Aunt Kati and I went shopping at Downtown Disney one day of our trip. There is a really great store there that sells lots of Lego. They have really cool displays inside and outside, all made of Lego.

These dogs looked so real, I wanted to pet them!

Even the Loch Ness monster was there.

And Woody!

They also had a great playground, with a fun slide.

After our shopping day, we went to the Polynesian Resort Luau that night.

I didn't want to wear my lei as a necklace, so it was a crown instead. I was the Luau King!

Disney trip blog 11 - back to EPCOT

On Disney day 11, we went back to EPCOT. It's a big place so there was more to see that we hadn't seen yet.

We got our picture taken with Mickey and Minnie. Aunt Kati says these are called topiaries, and she will talk your head off about how they grow them if you ask her. (Yes, it was one of the many things she learned on her tour!)

There was also a Pluto one. I liked it so much, I jumped up and down!

And there was another one of those great big Christmas trees.

We ate lunch in Mexico! Well, sort of. The Mexican pavilion in World Showcase was really neat. They made it look like you are in a village square at dusk.

There was also a fun ride where we followed Donald Duck around the different areas of Mexico and learned about the culture. I liked it so much that we rode it three times!

It was really hot the day we were at EPCOT, so Aunt Kati stripped me down so I could play in the squirting water.

We went on the Figment ride again, too!

Disney trip blog 10 - FantasMic!

On day 10 of our epic trip to Walt Disney World, I stayed at the hotel with Grandma Lyn and Uncle John most of the day, while Aunt Kati took an all day behind the scenes tour. If you have ever wondered about how they do things at Disney, from how Tower of Terror works to the "tunnels" underneath the parks, to the way they take out the trash, you should ask her. But only if you want to listen for a while...she LOVES that stuff. That's why she took that huge tour! Anyway, at the end of her tour, she met Uncle John, Grandma Lyn and me at Hollywood Studios. We had a yummy dinner at Mama Melrose's Italian restaurant, and then we went to see the FantasMic show.

Aunt Kati just had to take this picture of her favorite princess, Belle. (Oh yeah, and the Beast...he's in it, too.)

Disney trip blog 9 - Magic!

In case you were wondering if we were ever going to go to the Magic Kingdom during our trip to Disney World, the answer is "of course!"

Dumbo the flying elephant is one of my favorite rides.

After Dumbo, we went on Snow White's Scary Adventure...but it wasn't too scary.

At first I wasn't too sure about riding this carousel horse, but then I ended up liking it!

I met the White Rabbit from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland...

... and then we went a bit crazy at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party!

We went on Pooh's ride...

...and then we went to lunch and got to meet Pooh and all his friends!

After lunch, we went around the small world.

After seeing a funny 3D show called Mickey's Philharmagic, I went back to the hotel for a nap! And then I came back later that night for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party...but that will be a separate blog!

Disney trip blog 8 - Ohana and Oh how much I've grown

Day 8 at Disney World was a relaxing one. We didn't go to any parks...just stayed and played at the hotel. Mommy, Grandma and Aunt Kati went to the Spa in the morning so Grandpa, Uncle John and I had "guys time". That night, we went to one of our favorite restaurants at Disney - Ohana, at the Polynesian resort.

Here I am with Mommy, waiting patiently for all the good food!

Aunt Kati says she loves how at Disney World they pay so much attention to detail. Even the ceiling in Ohana is decorated in Polynesian patterns!

Then Uncle John and I had our picture taken with the big giant head again, just so you could compare to the picture from last year and see how much bigger I am now!

After dinner, we went out to the "beach" at the resort. You can see Cinderella castle across the Seven Seas Lagoon from there!

Aunt Kati says you'll just have to trust us that it looks better in real life than it does in that picture. :)

Disney trip blog 7 - EPCOT

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to a park called EPCOT. There is a great big round thing there near the front. Some people call it the giant golf ball, but it's really called Spaceship Earth. Anyway, Mommy and I posed for a picture at it when we first arrived in the morning.

We went on a fun under the sea ride that had Nemo in it, and then we saw a show with his friend Crush the turtle.

Then Mommy and I crawled around the play area and went to see the big aquariums. I loved watching the dolphin swim by!

We went on one of Aunt Kati's favorite rides. It is called "Imagination" and has a purple dragon in it. His name is Figment.

I love jumping around in this area that plays music. It was really fun last year, so I had to do it again this year, too.

We ate lunch in the Coral Reef restaurant. The big aquariums are right in there, so it's almost like being under water!

My dessert was a "make your own" sundae. I put sprinkles on it...

...then, after adding M&Ms and chocolate syrup, I ate it. I also shared some with Mommy.

We went to see a concert with a HUGE choir singing Christmas songs. This is only slightly more than half of the choir!

The music was very relaxing, so I took a nice nap.

We also got family pictures taken with Minnie and Goofy.

It was another big fun day!

Disney trip blog 6 - Thanksgiving continued

After we ate breakfast at Chef Mickey's, we went back to Animal Kingdom to see the things we missed yesterday.

Goofy was there, too, so I got to see him again and give him a big hug.

Our first stop was at the Boneyard which is a really fun play area for kids. And mommies!

When we stepped on the footprints in this area, we heard dinosaur roars!

We went flying on some really cute dinosaurs.

Then we went for a ride on the train. I wore my engineer hat!

For Thanksgiving dinner, we went to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. There was lots of delicious food...including ice cream!

...and a band that played music for us to dance to.

Plus, I got to see all my friends again!

Christmas blog 6 - it's finally Christmas!

Santa stopped by last night while I was sleeping.

Here I am coming out of my bedroom to see what he left.

A great train table! It even has a big drawer to keep trains and other toys in, so they don't get lost.

I had to play with it right away!

Santa also left some presents for everyone else.

Mommy has a funny hat she wears every Christmas that she made when she was a little girl. It says "Elf Jocelyn", which means that she hands out the stockings and presents to everyone. I help her!

This year, I got a new stocking. It is really great and has my name on it! My Auntie Annie made it especially for me. Wasn't that nice of her?

Uncle John got a car for Christmas! Well, sort of. He used to have a car almost exactly like this little model one.

Mommy got some cute pajamas.

I got lots of other great presents. A backpack...

a cute Lightning McQueen car...

...a book (with me in the story!)

...a bear sleeping bag, and a Tinkerbell...

...and several other things, too!

Aunt Kati and Uncle John made delicious monkey bread.

We ate a yummy late breakfast. Then we all took naps!

That night, we had a big Christmas dinner, with ham, green beans (two of my favorites) and mashed potatoes.

It was a really good day. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, too!

Disney trip blog 5 - Thanksgiving

Our fifth day at Disney World was Thanksgiving! I don't know all the history of this holiday yet, but from what I can tell, it is a day when you eat a lot. So eat a lot we did!

We started out at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I had a Mickey shaped waffle with blueberry sauce which was DELICIOUS.

And then my friends started visiting the table. First was Goofy - I was excited to see him!

Then Donald stopped by...

And Minnie...

And Pluto...

Of course my favorite is still Mickey!

We did some more fun things (and ate more great food) later in the day...but Aunt Kati says we have so many pictures that we are going to have to do a separate post about the rest of the day...so stay tuned!

Christmas blog 5 - Twas the night before...

On Christmas Eve, we went to the service at the United Methodist Church. They also have a pretty tree!

And they also did a pageant with kids in it. I got to be in this one!

I sang along, even though the microphone was a bit above my head!

And then we lit candles.

After the service, I got to go see Santa!

And then I got to pose for a bunch of pictures in front of the tree.

When we went home, I helped open the first gift of Christmas.

And then we each opened one present. Here's mine!

After that, I had to go to bed so that Santa and his elves could come deliver my presents.

Disney trip blog 4 - Kingdom of the Animals

On our fourth day at Disney, we went to Animal Kingdom park. It was almost like taking a tour to Africa! First, we heard some music.

Then, we went to eat breakfast with Donald Duck!

Donald's friends were there too. I gave Goofy a high five!

And a kiss!

Daisy was jealous, so I gave her a kiss, too!

But my favorite is still Mickey!

After breakfast, we went on a safari! We saw lots of animals from Africa.

But we didn't see any lions. So we went to see the Lion King show instead!

We ate lunch in the rainforest.

And then Mommy and I posed with an elephant! Okay, not a real one, but we liked this one anyway.

The big Christmas tree at this park was decorated with animals...of course!

Christmas blog 4 - Assembly of God church pageant

There are two churches on the island where I live. I go with Aunt Kati to the United Methodist Church most Sundays, although I have been to the Assembly of God Church a few times, too. We went to the Assembly church about a week before Christmas to see their show.

They had a very pretty Christmas tree in there. I really liked looking at it.

And I even stood still in front of it for just long enough for Aunt Kati to take a cute picture of me actually looking toward the camera instead of at the tree!

The Christmas show was really good. It was mostly kids in it. They sang lots of songs, and they also did a skit.

And after the show, we got to eat some yummy snacks. I ate a bunch of tomatoes, because I love tomatoes!

Disney trip blog 3 - more Hollywood and some Downtown

On Tuesday, Aunt Kati and I went back to Hollywood Studios so we could see some of the things we missed on Monday. First, we went to see a show about Aunt Kati's favorite princess, Belle (from Beauty and the Beast, a movie I like, too).

Belle is Aunt Kati's favorite because she loves to read.

I loved the music and dancing.

Aunt Kati loved the love story. Awwww....

In the end Belle still looked gorgeous, just more dressed up...but the Beast looked a lot better!

After the show, Aunt Kati and I shared a gigantic delicious cupcake.

That evening, we went to Downtown Disney for dinner, and I got to see another favorite movie character: Buzz Lightyear!

Christmas blog 3 - live nativity

Aunt Kati was in the live nativity scene at our church. She's the shepherd all the way on the right, behind that cute sheep. Oh, wait. It looks like all the other sheep. Anyway...

It was really cold outside, so Mommy and I waited in the church. While we waited, I looked at the pretty Christmas tree. It was really tall!

Disney trip blog 2 - Hollywood Studios

On our first full day at Walt Disney World, we went to a park called Hollywood Studios.

There was a great big Christmas tree in front of the park.

Hollywood Studios has fun rides, like the other Disney parks, but it also has lots of cool shows! The first one we went to was the Little Mermaid show. I liked the singing but was not a huge fan of the big mean octopus Ursula. Apparently she's not nice and I'm not supposed to like her anyway, so I guess that was okay. After that show, we went to a show that I really loved! It was called Playhouse Disney Live on Stage, and it had two of my favorites on it - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny!

I especially liked clapping along to the music!

For lunch, we ate in a really cool restaurant - we got to sit in cars and watch old movies on a big screen.

After lunch, we went to play at the playground which was based on another one of my favorite movies, "A Bug's Life". When you are on the playground, you feel as small as a bug because all the stuff in there is HUGE.

My favorite was the big leaf slide. I went on it over and over and over, and then over again.

We went back to our hotel for an afternoon nap, and then we went back to Hollywood Studios, and straight into Toy Story! Look, it's Andy's room!

The ride is 3D, so I got to wear some crazy fun glasses.

Then, I got my picture taken with two of my favorite movie stars: Lightning McQueen and Mater!

Then we walked down a street that was absolutely covered with Christmas lights!

And finally, we saw a hilarious Muppets show. We got to wear another pair of those funny 3D glasses again.

Wow, we packed a lot of fun into that day, didn't we? I slept well that night!

Christmas blog 2 - cookies!

Another fun thing that I like to do every Christmas is help Mommy make cookies for Santa. Don't worry, Mommy does the grown up part, like putting the cookies into and taking them out of the hot oven. I get to help with the icing and decorating!

Mommy mixed up some red and green icing for us to put on the cookies. We also kept some of the icing just plain white.

We spread it on them...

And then we added the sprinkles!

Lots of them!

I bet Santa liked those cookies.

Disney trip - blog 1

As I've mentioned before, Aunt Kati, Uncle John and I went to Disney World for two weeks! Mommy, Grandma and Grandpa were there for part of the time, too. Boy, did we have fun! It will take several blogs to share it all, but here's a quick one just to get started. The first day we arrived, we didn't do much since it was about 3 in the afternoon already when we got there.

I really liked the Minnie Mouse head made of towels that was on the bed in the room.

Then we went to eat at a wonderful restaurant called Boma. They had African food there. I was adventurous and tried some, but I also liked the food they had just for kids like me (especially the mac and cheese and chicken nuggets).

But my absolute favorite thing was that they had wonderful fresh strawberries. I ate a whole plateful!

Christmas celebrations - blog 1

Every year, my school has a big Christmas party. It's fun!

I really love the snacks...

...when things get busy and there are lots of fun parties and decorations everywhere. Aunt Kati says some of you might be wondering what kinds of things I asked Santa to bring me for Christmas, so you can look here if you are curious about that sort of thing.

We went to Walt Disney World for two weeks! Boy did we have fun! Aunt Kati says it will take quite a while to get the blogs posted, but that she promises she will work on it!

Aunt Kati went to several yard sales on Saturday. I like to go with her, but she takes longer to check everything out than I do. That's okay, though...I don't mind just hanging out until she's done shopping (or chatting!)

Trick or treat!

Today, Aunt Kati and I got all dressed up in our Bob the Builder and Wendy costumes again.

Then we went for a walk. It was a really great walk, because some of our friends went with us. They were wearing costumes, too!

There were LOTS of kids out walking.

And they all had bags. I had one, too!

The best thing about this walk was that we got to go up to people's houses, and they put candy in our bags!

Aunt Kati had told me that I was supposed to say "Trick or Treat!", but every time she asked me "what do you need to say?", I said "Please!" or "Thank you!" instead. I can't help it...I'm just a sweet, polite boy.

Carnival!

I went to the big carnival at the school this year for the first time! (For the last two years, I just went to the costume parade, but this year I was big enough to go play some of the carnival games, too.) It was lots of fun!

First was the costume parade...

Am I cute in my Bob the Builder costume, or what? Aunt Kati dressed as Bob's friend Wendy who wears a blue hard hat, and we walked around together.

Then, we went inside for the carnival. Can you tell I was excited about it?

I got to play a fishing game...

...and I "caught" a goodie bag!

They let me get close to the clown for the bean bag toss...

...and close to the basket for the flounder toss. Don't worry, they weren't real flounder - that would be TOO stinky!

I liked decorating this giant candy corn with fuzzy balls.

But my favorite game was the ducks. I played it over and over and over. But I was a bit sad that I didn't get to keep the duck as a prize!

I had a really great time!

Fire truck!

Did you know that October is Fire Prevention Month? Well, now you do. Every October, the Fire Department here has an open house where they let kids do all sorts of fun things, like climb on the truck...

..and climb IN the truck...

...and pretend to DRIVE the truck...

...and look out the window of the truck...

...and just generally enjoy the truck!

Wow, this tire is taller than me!

They also let us do other fun things, too, like watch a movie about fire safety, and spray water with the hose!

The kids were taking turns spraying a ball to make it move, but I kept wanting to run and get the ball.

So one of the firemen brought it to me...even though I sprayed him!

"Tiny store" dock and good stuff on the porch

Our island has two grocery stories: the big one, called the Variety Store, which I like. And the small one, called the Community Store, which I love. I call the Community Store the "tiny store" or the "water store", because it is right on the harbor. And I love it because my friend Sarah works there, and because they have a wonderful porch where I can sit and... well, you'll see.

Sometimes, before we go into the store, we walk out onto the dock to look at the water and the boats. It is fun sitting in the sun...

...although sometimes the light is a bit too bright!

Then I go in the store and say Hi to my friend Sarah. I get really upset when she is not there! She is my favorite store employee and she always smiles and talks to me.

Then comes the best part, when we sit on the porch and eat ice cream!

I always get the same kind - strawberry - because it is lip-smacking-delicious.

Uncle John and I sit and eat our ice cream bars together.

By the way, Aunt Kati says not to worry about that bruise under his eye, and no, she did not hit him! He just woke up one morning and there it was. Weird, huh?

Sometimes Uncle John shares his ice cream with me. I am pretty sure that means he loves me a lot.

Colorado trip blog 9 - water baby

One great thing about going to stay in a hotel is they have a pool! I love to jump in from the side, and practice my swimming. I had so much fun! Just ignore the last 20 seconds or so of the video...Uncle John didn't realize he hadn't turned off the camera. Whoops!

When you go on a long trip for vacation, and you have to fly there, you can't bring as many toys and books as you would like to (you just can't fit them all in to your suitcase). So I brought my two favorite books with me: Thomas-saurus Rex and Bless Me (which I like to read every night before bed). As a result, most of the adults in my life now have Thomas-saurus Rex memorized (everyone memorized Bless Me ages and ages ago...)

Uncle John is so patient, he read it to me over and over!

Colorado trip blog 7 - Flying W

Today, we went to the Flying W Ranch. We got to see lots of interesting things.

I liked the American Indian dancers, especially the cool drum music they danced to!

Aunt Kati and I went to jail. (Not really, of course!)

We got to go in a teepee...

...and Mommy and I pretended to warm our hands by the fire.

There was a really pretty church.

I liked talking to this horse.

Then we had a delicious dinner on tin cowboy plates!

Uncle John said that was his favorite part, because he had a yummy steak!

But my favorite part was the music show - the Flying W Wranglers band was amazing and lots of fun to listen to.

I liked them so much that I sat and listened to the whole show, even though it was past my usual bedtime.

If you ever go to Colorado Springs, I think you should go to the Flying W. It's fun!

We went to play mini golf this morning, which was lots of fun! Mommy showed me how to hit my cool purple golf ball.

Aunt Kati, Uncle John and I took a trip to Colorado to visit Mommy. (And Eric and Grandma and Grandpa were there, too.) It was lots of fun, and it will take me a few blogs to tell you all about it...so here's the first one.

To go to Colorado, we went on an airplane. I love flying on airplanes because I get to eat lollipops! This trip was the first time I got to sit in a seat of my very own, like a big boy. That was cool!

When you go on an airplane a long way across the country, and then you ride in a car for a while after you get there, it makes you pretty sleepy. And when that happens, you can fall asleep right in the middle of a large group of people talking in a hotel lobby. Here's proof.

No, Mommy's not asleep in that picture although it sorta looks like she is...she's just looking at how cute I am.

It almost looks like Eric is sleeping in that one...but he's not. I was the only one smart enough to just go ahead and go to sleep!

I love to "cook" in my kitchen. For my birthday, I got a great present from my friend Payce which is fruits, vegetables, and bread that I can "cut". It's fun to pretend I'm a chef and practice prepping my next wonderful meal.

Today my Daddy is a quarter of a century old. Wow! Tutu Katy sent me a hundred dollars! That's a lot of money!

Anyway, Tutu says that I need to use this money for an ADVENTURE, which sounds wonderful to me! Except I'm not sure what to do for my adventure...so I am taking ideas! Mommy made me this cute blue cookie with a C on it for my name.

It was almost too cute to eat.

But not quite!

When you eat a blue cookie, you end up with a blue face. Aunt Kati said I looked like a Smurf, but I don't know what a Smurf is, so I just looked at her funny. I guess Smurf must mean "really cute boy with blue icing on his face".

It has been REALLY hot here this summer! Luckily, I have a great pool that I can swim in when I need to cool down. Here are some pictures of me playing in my pool with Mommy and Eric recently.

One of my favorite parts of my pool is the slide.

Mommy didn't want to get in the pool, so we splashed her!

Eventually, she got in...but she was a wimp about how cold it was! So we splashed her some more!

Mommy and Eric and I made cookies today. Well, Mommy baked them, then Eric and I helped to decorate them!

We did green and white and red. Well, it was supposed to be red but it turned out more like pink. Anyway, I helped to put the icing on them.

Then, I added sprinkles.

But the best part about making cookies, is eating them!

When you get icing all over your face, that just makes it even better.

And then you can kiss your Mommy and share some with her!

Wow, that was so much fun...that I'm a little tired.

There is a nice man named Braxton who comes to the island every week and sells fresh vegetables from farms on the mainland. I went to go see him with Grandma Lyn and Aunt Kati, and we bought all sorts of yummy stuff to eat.

There was a big party at my house today, to celebrate... ME!

There was lots of great food at my party. Most of it was what Mickey likes to eat - different kinds of cheese!

And there were Jello jigglers that Mommy decorated to look like Mickey.

We played a game called Pin the ears on Mickey. (Mommy drew it. She did a great job!) Here's what it looked like before our game:

The last thing we did was called a pinata.

There were lots of strings on it for us to pull...

Easter Egg huntin'

Every year, there's an Easter Egg hunt for kids at the Methodist Church here. Aunt Kati says that I didn't go last year, because I was sleeping, but that I did get one egg from my friend Emma. I ate the candy out of it, and that was the first time I ever had chocolate. Yum!

Anyway, this year I was wide awake and enjoyed the egg hunt, even though it was over really fast!

I found a nice yellow egg first.

And then I found this cool orange and yellow one!

You have to open the eggs...

...to find the treats! This one had a lollipop in it.

My friend Payce was also at the Easter egg hunt, so we gave each other a big hug.

Riding a rocket in the store

I love going to the small Community Store on Ocracoke Island, where I live. But I wish they had cool shopping carts like the big stores in Hawaii have!

Sidewalk chalk

Tutu Katy lives on a cul-de-sac, which I think is just a fancy word for a big area where you can draw with chalk!

Mommy wrote my name.

I helped Tutu Katy with her sun drawing.

Then Tutu and Mommy traced my feet...

...and then everybody else's feet, too. But mine are the cutest because they are the smallest!

Bubbles!

Auntie Annie bought me some really great presents! One of them is this bubble blowing machine which makes LOADS of bubbles really quickly. I had so much fun chasing them around Tutu Katy's yard!

In this picture, you can also see another cool thing I got to play with - a cow lawnmower. It mooed when I pushed it!

After my big day going to the zoo, to see the big yellow firetruck, and to Grammy's, I was REALLY tired. I was sooo tired that I fell asleep in the car on the way back to Tutu's house. Then, when we got there, I was so tired that I didn't wake up when Aunt Kati took me out of my car seat and carried me inside. And I was so tired that when Mommy tried to change my diaper to put me to bed, I rolled over and tried to go to sleep right there, even though I wasn't in my bed and I was half naked!

Visiting Grammy

As promised, here's a blog about my visit to Grammy's house. She lives in a big building with a nice pool, so we went for a swim. Then, she made us a really delicious dinner. It was a really fun visit!

After we went to the Zoo, we went to visit my Grammy Norma (Tutu Katy's mommy). Aunt Kati and I will post a blog with pictures of that visit, but in the meantime, here's another blog. Right across the street from where Grammy lives, there's a fire station. So we went to visit, and I got to see the fire truck! The fire truck where I live is red, but the one I got to see in Hawaii was yellow.

I went to the Zoo!

We went to the Honolulu Zoo and I got to see lots of animals.

I enjoyed climbing on these hippos with Mommy. Tutu Katy said that my Daddy used to climb on them when he was a little boy, too!

Then I got to see some big elephants...

I learned there are lots of different types of turtles...

Mommy and I got to go through a tunnel...

...and then pop up in the middle of this fish tank!

I petted a goat. It wasn't as soft as my kitties at home!

Did you notice Honu my turtle in these pictures? Here's one where you can really see him, just in case you didn't yet.

Auntie Annie bought Honu for me at Sea Life Park, and as you can see I really love him!

Wow, giraffes are tall!

I thought this peacock was pretty.

Aunt Kati thought this zoo sign was pretty funny.

It says "This is the best zoo to be found for 2300 miles in any direction." I agree!

Sea life and beach fun

Here's another blog about some of the fun things we did during our trip to Hawaii. We went to a really cool place called Sea Life Park, where we got to watch seals and dolphins do tricks, jump and swim.

We also got to see lots of water animals in big aquariums. I liked looking at them with Mommy.

We also got to go to the beach a bunch of times, because there are lots of really pretty beaches in Hawaii. I had so much fun jumping in the waves with Tutu Katy and Mommy!

One of the fun toys that Tutu Katy had at her house for me to play with is this great push and ride horse. It plays music!

Tutu's house is on a cul-de-sac, which means that there's a big circle for me to play in outside. I liked riding the horse around out there...

Aunt Kati, Mommy and I went on some long plane rides and now we are in Hawaii visiting Tutu Katy! I knew as soon as we got to Tutu's house and I saw the cool toys she had for me that I was going to have fun with her. And then, today, she threw a party for me! People even brought me presents! This is going to be a great vacation...
