Can you stand...

...to know that I can stand? All by myself! It doesn't last very long, but I'm getting better at it every day!

By the way, in case you're wondering where I am in these pictures, Aunt Kati took them at baby play group.

My first...

Today, I got my first HAIRCUT!

Here's the "before" picture. That's Susie, the nice lady who cut my hair, behind me.

And here are some "after" pictures.

I was really good for Susie, sitting still most of the time and not crying at all.

You can see the back of my hair in this picture of us in the mirror.

After my haircut, we went back to daycare so everyone could see my new look. They were all amazed and said things like "he looks so different" and "oh my goodness" and "wow". Aunt Kati joked that she had apparently misplaced Connor, but luckily she had found a really cute baby with short hair instead. I was not as impressed as everyone else. After we left the daycare, Aunt Kati took me for a drive on the beach. I looked at the ocean for a few minutes, and then I promptly fell asleep!

I work fast!

Aunt Kati thought you should know that this area was neat and tidy, with no toys strewn across the floor, just a few minutes before this picture was taken.

Yes, these pictures were taken on two different days (in case you noticed the two outfits). I do this a lot!

Incredible block!

Aunt Kati knows how much I love blocks, so she bought me one great big one. It is really fun!

One side has three columns where I can put the small blocks.

Then, when I push the red lever on that side, all the blocks fall out...that is really fun, because it makes noise when all the blocks go crash!

Another side has a big storage area where I can keep more of my blocks. I like to take them out of there...

...and put them on the top. When I do that, the top spins around and plays songs.

And it also has two more sides. I told you it was fun!

I'm in the double digits!

Well, sorta. I'm 10 months old today! Here are my pictures with Squeakers!

Aunt Kati says the primary difference between the 9 months and the 10 months pictures is that now I can crawl away from Squeakers!

But I crawled right back...

...so that I could talk to Squeaks!

Playing with presents

I have had so much fun playing with the presents I got for Christmas! Aunt Kati said it would be nice if we posted some pictures of me playing with the things I got. So here are a few. These are the presents I got from my Mommy and my Daddy. Later, Aunt Kati will post more blogs with pictures of the presents I got from other people.

This table is so much fun! I like to pull up on it, and then it has bunches of things to do - there is a piano keyboard, a lever to pull, a spinner with beads in it, 3 big buttons to push, a lid to open, and of course this book in the middle of the table. I can turn the page!

These maracas are great! The one makes rattling noises when I shake it, and the other does all sorts of things, like naming the colors or making funny sounds while the top of it lights up.

I love pressing the buttons on my phone (well, on all phones really, but Aunt Kati prefers when I do it on my phone). It makes real phone sounds like a dial tone and the sounds of keys being pressed, but it also plays music and talks.

I might be...

...left handed. I almost always pick up food to eat with my left hand, and I often play with toys primarily with my left hand, too. Here are some example pictures from this morning when I was playing with my blocks. It is fun to put them into the windmill, and then when I open the door at the bottom, they all come spilling out, and the windmill turns and plays music!

Aunt Kati says I also might be ambidextrous, which is a big word that means using both your hands equally well.

And of course I also still might be right handed. Time will tell. My grandpa Joe Bob is left handed, and so is Aunt Kati's friend Julie (Alex's mommy), so if I am left handed, I will be in good company!

By the way, Aunt Kati says sorry about the lack of blogs recently. Her laptop crashed, whatever that means. She may have lost some pictures of me, too, which would be sad, but her friend Steve is going to see if he can find them. I don't know what a hard drive is, but apparently Aunt Kati's ate the pictures. :(

Blueberry boy!

I ate blueberries today, and boy are they delicious! They are also messy, but that's part of the fun if you ask me!

Aunt Kati says that this bib will never be the same again (although she's not too worried about that, since I have plenty of bibs), and that the next time I eat blueberries I will wear one of my plastic ones!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Aunt Kati says it is another special day today, so I get to wear a special outfit. Here's a closeup look at it so you can see what it says.

Uncle John says I'm not in training, I'm already an accomplished heart breaker! Here's another cute saying that is on my outfit.

I got a present for Valentine's Day, but I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

There were lots of things in my present, which I enjoyed looking at. Then I ate dinner!

I'm crawling!

I finally started really crawling - classic crawling up on my hands and knees - today. Aunt Kati said it was "not a moment too soon" because for the past couple of days, when I would pull myself along the carpet at daycare and home in my commando-crawl style, I kept pulling myself out of my pants, just leaving them on the floor behind me! Here are some pictures of me crawling...

Sometimes, when I am really concentrating on crawling, I make a fierce face!

My big boy car seat

You might remember my car seat with the carrier part that I sat in, which went into the car or into the stroller. You can see the first picture of me in it here.

Well, I have outgrown it now. I got too long. I know, that's hard to believe when you look at that first picture!

My friend Lachlan gave me his old carseat that he had grown out of, so that's what I sit in now when we go out to the store, or to daycare, or to the beach. (My new carseat is in Aunt Kati's Jeep, which we can drive on the beach...I love to look at the ocean!) Anyway, here I am in the new seat!

Yes, it was cold when Aunt Kati took these pictures, so I'm bundled in my hat and mittens.

Gravity is fun!

I had a good time the other day watching gravity work. Aunt Kati says it works every single time, but I wanted to test that. So I kept pushing one of my blocks off the table and watching it fall onto the floor. And guess what? Gravity did work, every single time. (Luckily, Aunt Kati kept putting the block back on the table for me.) It was really fun!

I start by pushing...

...until the block is really near the edge...

...then it goes over the edge...

...and I look to see where it went! (Down, by the way. That's where it went.)
